Collaboration with B2 Studio – residential and commercial architecture photography
For several years, I have been collaborating with the Kraków-based architectural practice B2 Studio, regularly producing architectural photography of their projects located across Poland. As part of this collaboration, I have completed over 70 full photography sessions, primarily documenting residential buildings, housing estates, and larger urban developments. Each session typically included daytime photography, dusk and evening shots, and in many cases also aerial drone photography. Among the first projects I photographed were Zatoka Komfortu, a residential building located on the Hel Peninsula, and Hotel Unicus Palace in Kraków’s Old Town. Due to the unique context of both locations, it was particularly important to highlight the relationship between the architecture and its surroundings, which was effectively captured through aerial views.
Architecture within the urban landscape – hotels and housing developments
One of the projects presented in the gallery is the AC Hotel Krakow by Marriott, designed as a dynamic, geometric form situated next to Kraków’s Błonia Park. While photographing this building, I focused on its architectural form, its scale in relation to the surrounding greenery, and the way the façades interact with light throughout the day and into the evening. The session included ground-level architectural photography as well as drone images that place the building within its broader urban context. Another example is the large residential development on Kolejowa Street in Wrocław. The project consists of a group of multi-family buildings constructed on the site of a former railway wagon factory. During this session, particular attention was given to the dialogue between the new architecture and the preserved elements of the historic industrial structures, as well as to the clear division of volumes that helps organize the scale of the entire complex.
Housing estates and historical context
Among the photographed projects is also Strefa Cegielnia in Kraków’s Zesławice district, a residential development that references the industrial history of the site, where a brickworks once supplied materials for the construction of Nowa Huta. In this case, the photographic focus was on the intimate scale of the buildings, the rhythm of the façades, and the material details that contribute to the identity of the new neighborhood.
My collaboration with B2 Studio is an example of a long-term relationship in which architectural photography serves not only as documentation, but also as a tool for building a consistent visual identity for residential and commercial projects. Each session is an attempt to capture architecture in relation to its place, light, and everyday scale.
