In 2015 the London-based architectural office Flanagan Lawrence won the competition for the redevelopment of the Summer Theatre in Szczecin. The project involved the expansion of the original summer theater designed by Zbigniew Abrahamowicz and built in 1976. The assumption was to modernize the building and improve its acoustics, while preserving the characteristic elements of the earlier building. A new roof was designed, the structure of which was based on a curvilinear truss independent of the original reinforced concrete arch. The project was completed in 2022 when I was asked to take pictures of it. The photos were published, among others on the cover and in the Architektura Murator magazine.
