Collaboration with Rysy Architekci – architectural photography of public spaces
For several years, I have been regularly collaborating with the Warsaw-based architectural studio Rysy Architekci, led by Rafał Sieraczyński. As part of this cooperation, I carry out architectural photography sessions documenting a wide range of projects, including public buildings, infrastructure, and educational facilities. Each commission is approached as a comprehensive photographic study and typically includes daytime and dusk photography, drone images, and interior photography where the function of the building requires it. When working on projects by Rysy Architekci, it is particularly important for me to show architecture in relation to its surroundings and everyday use. These are designs in which form grows out of landscape, urban context, and a clear spatial logic. Photography becomes a tool for telling that story and for highlighting the relationships between architecture, space, and people.
Transport hub in Solec Kujawski and the Spa Park in Horyniec-Zdrój
One of the key projects I documented was the Transport Hub in Solec Kujawski, part of the BiT City system connecting Bydgoszcz and Toruń. The building was designed as a light and restrained structure that does not dominate its surroundings but instead organises the existing landscape. Rather than introducing an expressive volume, the architect opted for a unified roof structure and transformed the railway embankment into an amphitheatre-like public space. While photographing this project, I aimed to show it not only as an infrastructure facility but also as an urban place that functions as a public square, accessible to both travellers and local residents. An equally important project was the revitalisation of the Spa Park in Horyniec-Zdrój. This is a space with a long spa tradition, where a clear urban layout and central compositional axis were restored. The park is not only a green area but also includes an amphitheatre and a pump room, designed as contemporary architectural forms using wood and glass. During the photography session, I focused on the relationship between architecture and landscape, the rhythm of terraces and pathways, and on how the new architecture reinforces the character of the place.
Collegium Pharmaceuticum in Poznań – educational architecture
One of the most recent projects, whose photographs open the gallery on the website, was a session of the Collegium Pharmaceuticum in Poznań. This educational building of the Medical University was designed at a human scale as a composition of three interconnected volumes. The architecture is defined by carefully designed graphite-and-golden façades that allow for a distinct play of light and shadow throughout the day. The session included exterior architectural photography, interior images, and drone photography, making it possible to show the building in relation to the Medicinal and Cosmetic Plants Garden, which forms an integral part of the project and serves as a teaching resource for students. While photographing the Collegium Pharmaceuticum, my goal was to capture the calm and functional character of the building and to show how educational architecture can create a welcoming and well-designed environment for learning and everyday use.
